Christian McTarnaghan is a Partner in Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick’s Bequest Management practice. He advises nonprofit organizations nationwide on complex estate, trust, and probate maters, helping them secure and protect charitable gifts, resolve contested bequests, navigate fiduciary and beneficiary disputes, and maximize distributions from estates and trusts.
Drawing on his background as a federal appellate litigator and his extensive experience representing charitable beneficiaries, Christian helps organizations transform challenging estate administration matters into successful outcomes. He is particularly passionate about helping nonprofits improve stewardship, strengthen bequest administration programs, and use data-driven insights to better understand and serve their legacy donors.
A frequent speaker and educator in the planned giving community, Christian presents on charitable estate administration, fiduciary litigation, and emerging trends affecting nonprofit organizations. He is known for his practical, solutions-oriented approach and his commitment to helping nonprofit organizations honor donor intent while advancing their missions. Outside of work, Christian enjoys skiing, hiking, and cooking with his wife and daughter.
Christian graduated cum laude from Colby College and Suffolk University Law School, where he served as a Lead Articles Editor of the Suffolk University Law Review.
